Guru -Yogis for the first time in St. Petersburg and “Lenexpo”

A world-known Indian Guru of Yoga, the humanitarian leader and official consultant of the World Healthcare Committee Shri Shri Ravi Shankar will visit St. Petersburg for the first time. He has prepared several surprises for St. Petersburg citizens. On September 6, 2010 he will conduct a class “Yoga for health and happiness” at “Lenexpo” exhibition and congress center.

The visit is organized in the framework of the Global Yoga Week “In a burst of inspiration…”, which will take place in Russia on September 5-12, 2010. Yoga Week is aimed to popularize healthy life style and attract new yoga followers. The event is initiated by the international organization “The Art of living” and international fund “Universal Values”.

Shri Shri Ravi Shankar has invented a new variant of breathing-yoga exercise – Shri-Shri yoga, which helps people overcome stress in a short space of time. The technique is based on the rhythmic breathing “Sudarshan Kriya”. It is a registered method, which helps people fight stress, sets peace of mind and makes body grow younger. The effectiveness of such method has been already proved by the researches, conducted in different medical institutions all over the world.

A new project of “Lenexpo” – Baltic Music Fest will take place on June 3-6, 2010

What happens when two passions, sea and music, combine together? A new project of "Lenexpo" - Baltic Music Fest will take place on June 3-6, 2010 on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Baltic Music fest is one of the events, included into the program of "Baltic Marine Festival", a remarkable event in the world of yachting. For 4 days bright music bands, famous favorites and not so well-known but also talented musicians will perform their music outdoors.

"Lenexpo" fairgrounds will simultaneously host a number of events: water-races, sailing regatta and yachts test drives. And, of course, there will be traditional festival treats.

Denis Rubin is the program director, and he turns this festival into the palette of modern music. For many years he has been forming the repertoire for different music clubs. Denis is a former director of "Leningrad" band and radio "Modern" producer, program director of "Platform", "Place" and "Sochi" clubs, at present he is an art-director for "Tantsy" (The dances) club.

June 3 will be devoted to the young jazz bands.

June 4 will focus on folk and rock-folk music. For example "Dobranoch" band, which gathers musicians from Moldova, Russia and Lebanon, inspired by Balkan, Jewish and Oriental melodies, composes new motives, where different cultures enrich each other.

"Simba Vibraton" will also introduce a new music solution. Their compositions let you enjoy sukus, afro-rumba, Reggie and even afro-beat. The final product is an unusual cocktail of different musical traditions, performed in five languages - Lingala, Kiswahili, French, English and Russian. The audience will also be pleased with "Skazi Lesa" (Forest tales) band with their bewitching 'forest chanson', accordion, bag-pipes, flutes, bass viol and shaman-drum.

On June 5 Music will play till 22.00. There will be some very famous musical teams, such as "Segodnya Nochyu" (Tonight). In 2002 the band rocketed to the top of many music hit-parades with their famous "Cigarettes and coffee". Some French fun will be organized by "The Krolls". Within 3 years they have managed to conquer many cities and give over 100 concerts in Russia and Europe and participated in many musical festivals, such as "Jazz cottage", Stereoleto, "Air".... "Spitfire" is the pioneers of Russian SKA style. In 2001 musician were invited to participate in the album, recoded by "Leningrad" band, called "The pirates of the XXI century". Since then "Spitfire" often performs as a part of "Leningrad".

Special festival guests is "Razniye Lyudi" (different people). Their concert will pay tribute to the musician of the Leningrad rock club. During its history the band has released 19 albums; group members are recognized masters of modern rock music: Alexander Chernetsky, Vadim Kurilev (a former member of DDT), Mikhail Nefedov (a former member of "Alisa"), Alexander Gordeev (a former "Korol i Shut), and Sergey "Chizh" Chigrakov. This music team has come through all stages of Russian rock and still pleases its fans: gives concerts and goes on music tours.

June 6 is the last Festival day and the program will finish at 16.00. This day music will remind everybody that the summer with its bright colors and smells has finally come. "Lenexpo" will be swept away with waves of joy and happiness: Latina and funk groups will give everyone real summer joy. E.g. "Prepinaki" band with their unique mix of dancing rhythms of from different époques and continents. The program will finish with the music project of Markscheider Kunst group, the team, called Tres Muchachos & Companeros. They will offer a spicy mix of Latina music. These guys know what the real joy is!

Symphonic Fairytale “Peter and Wolf” at “Lenexpo” concert hall

On Saturday, March 27, a play for children of 1-5th grade will take place at “Lenexpo” concert hall (Pavilion 7). The symphonic fairytale by Sergey Prokofiev “Peter and Wolf” will take the young listeners into the exciting journey to the world of Music.
Orchestra “The Classics”, conducted by the famous St. Petersburg king of waltz Alexander Kantorov, will perform Prokofiev’s music for children. Maestro Kantorov will personally read fairytale lyrics. The concert will also include some popular classic miniatures.
“Peter and Wolf” is a well-known children’s’ musical play, specially composed to demonstrate the abilities of different musical instruments. During the performance children are involved into the interesting game and it lets them learn more about the symphonic orchestra.
“The Classics” orchestra started its educational performances in 1996 in the USA, where the musicians had a tour with several dozens concerts for school children. The concerts were organized at the stadiums and basketball fields and gathered thousand students, absolutely unprepared to listen to the classics.
Later on such performances were conducted in every country where the orchestra came with its music tour: Japan, Germany, Czech Republic, France and Great Britain. Since 2003 such concerts have been conducted in St. Petersburg under the motto “Let’s bring up a happy generation!”. Thousands of children have already had the first exciting meeting with classical music in “Oktyabr’sky” concert hall, “Ice Palace” and “Lenexpo”.
Concerts bring the atmosphere of a live communication between the audience and musicians, and they are remembered as an unforgettable holiday. Children, involved into an exciting game, become active performance participants.

The concert will take place in “Lenexpo” on March 27 at 12.00.

Museum of Auto Exotics will open in “Lenexpo”

A permanent exposition of the last century cult cars and motorbikes will open at "Lenexpo" premises on December 19, 2009. The exposition organizers are JSC "Lenexpo", "International Cultural Center" Ltd, "Retro-Union" club and "Museum Alliance" (St. Petersburg). Pavilion №3 will host the exposition of 2500 sq m, which will demonstrate the exhibits from "Retro-Union" collection and other retro museums of Zelenogorsk, Vyborg and private collections.

In assistance with "Stone Lion" St. Petersburg esthete-club "Auto Exotics" museum will also have a new club, which will please the guests with a unique jazz program, performed by St. Petersburg jazz and blues star Valery Ostapenko. Every week the pavilion with exotic cars will host the show "Night at the museum".

Besides club parties "Auto exotic" museum offers different forms of cooperation: partners and informational sponsorship, participation in business and cultural programs, organization and conduction of personal presentations and promo-actions. Museum territory lets you compose different temporary or permanent advertising and image compositions of auto and motor novelties for the period of seminars, conferences, round tables and business meetings either before of after the International auto industrial Forum. "Auto Exotics" museum will take old vehicles from car manufacturing enterprises and place it in the exposition "Russian car" for any period on the basis of a "responsible keeping" custody of the exhibits until they are requested back to the owning enterprises. There is a possibility of a gratuitous donation of retro cars to the museum fund. The exhibits can include historical national motor cars and lorries, motor bikes, sport vehicles, concept -cars, car prototypes, experimental models never put into real production and etc.

On December 4, 2009 "Lenexpo" will host the brightest club music event - Ministry of Sound.

St. Petersburg has waited for more than a year. During this time 16 largest Russian cities have experienced Ministry of Sound events, conducted in the framework of 'Sound 3 D Vision' global tour. Unique technologies and light effects, which are used during every event, impress everyone from the thousands of visitors. And finally Ministry of Sound is coming to St. Petersburg.
