The XVIII International forum is considered to be the largest event of its kind in Northeastern Europe. It is the place where the leading national and foreign companies demonstrate the latest achievements, equipment, technologies and projects in the sphere of security and safety services.

The international exhibition "SFITEX - Security and Safety" is the annual event in this sphere, the oldest in Russia. Its history began in 1992. Since the end of the 90's the exhibition has had the status of the International Safety Forum. At present the exhibition has become the largest event in the sphere of security and safety in Northeastern Europe. It annually exposes the latest equipment and technical achievements, demonstrates modern technologies and new projects for the security and safety industry.

The exhibition is officially supported by the Russian Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Natural Disasters, Federal Security Service, Federal Service for Technical and Export Control, Federal IT Agency, Administration of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North-West Federal District and St. Petersburg government.

Last year "SFITEX - 2008" exhibition and its business program events were attended by over 20 000 specialists from 156 Russian cities and 23 foreign countries.
